When we compress bio gas and convert it into bio CNG, we pass it through a purification process which removes the impurities present in the bio gas such as hydrogen sulphide, moisture and carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide separated from the impurities can be used for many purposes such as-
1. Greenhouse farming: CO2 can be used in greenhouse farming, where it improves the growth of plants.
2. Carbonated beverages: CO2 can be used in carbonated beverages such as soda, beer, and sparkling water.
3. Industrial applications: CO2 can be used in industrial applications such as chemical manufacturing, oil recovery, and pharmaceuticals.
4. Carbon capture and storage: CO2 can be captured and stored in underground storage facilities, where it can be used in the future.
5. Algae cultivation: CO2 can be used in algae cultivation, where it improves the growth of algae and helps in producing biofuels.
6. Bioremediation: CO2 can be used in bioremediation, where it helps in cleaning contaminated soil and groundwater.
7. Food industry: CO2 can be used in the food industry, such as in food packaging, preservation, and carbonated food products.
8. Medical applications: CO2 can be used in medical applications such as respiratory therapy, surgical procedures, and medical research.
These are some examples in which CO2 can be used. By using CO2 we can convert it from waste to valuable resource.
